My family recently got this property and I'll be the main one hunting it. Its 160 acres, the Icon in the top left corner should tell you which way north is. I haven't had a whole lot of time to scout much since we got it. Im gonna get stands hung this weekend, just thought I'd get some thoughts on stand sites from others.
Along the bean field for evening. That little finger of woods might be a highway for them as well. Beans field though would be my first guess.. provided they aren't dying on the vine due to drought.
I would put a stand in that finger at the north east corner of the property in that finger of trees. I would put out some trail camera's before trapsing around hanging stands that may or may not be in the right spot. Know what I mean? IMO
I definately mean northwest corner .. my bad .. i got all confused when i had to turn my head sideways to figure out which way was up. lol
I agree with 2xlungshot, I would definitely put some trail cameras up on that finger as well before dropping a bunch of scent around to make sure they are moving through there. And if they are be sure to spray down everything when you go in there to set stands since we are so close to the opener. Good luck, looks like a nice tract of land.
Yeah I was thinking that the NW corner off of the bean field would be a good place to look at. I also wonder if the small strip of timber at the south end by the road would be a good place, I think they might use it to travel between different feeding areas. Thanks for the input guys, I need to start researching on habit management, I plan on working on this place over the next few years.
