Hey, I'm new here. I want to get into bowhunting but I have no clue where to start. I've done some archery in the past so I would so I know most of the basics. I just found myself lost in all the bows, arrows, and who knew there could be so many accesories? I would just like someone to point me in the right direction, as to which brand bow are good and also heads for hunting deer. Thanks

    First off, welcome!

My suggestion is to find a reputable bow shop and go there and tell them the same thing you typed here. The biggest thing is to shoot as many bows as possible to find out what you like and fits your price range. From there, the bow shop can help you select accessories for the bow.

Good luck and feel free to ask questions there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum so utilize their wisdom.

And dont be afraid to decide ahead of time what you expect to spend and tell that to shop or store you want to purchase equipment from, and avoid any spur of the moment decisions. You dont need the best of the best to start out so dont let the sales hype effect your purchase. Feel free to run any selections you might have by the people here on this forum. They will be happy to give you some advice on pros and cons. There are no stupid questions. Welcome to the forum these guys are great. As far as which heads work best would depend on your draw weight. This greatly effects penetration on several broadheads.

    Here is my advice......

    Run away....Run Away NOW!!!!!

Once you are hooked...there is no escape...sleepless nights, angry spouses..cold wet miserable days a field and sudden bursts of adrenilin that will have you trembling like a dog passin prune bits....

    LOL!!

Just kidding, you have already taken the smartest first step.....the reality is, that asking what kind of bow or equipment to get is liking asking who your favorite football team should be...

Find a shop and shoot a few and stay within your $ range., cause after the bow, and stuff you gotta get camo, treestands, pop up blinds, scent control,....
