I have seen those before, seems a little bulky for my taste. Also, I would think to would cause a lot of movement getting blown around by the wind.

You can get double steps for the Lw sticks.

I have these exact cable aiders on one of my sets. I cut up a garden hose and put it on the cable to keep my boot tread from getting stuck in it. I'm still not crazy about them though. Seems like I'm constantly searching to step on it properly in the dark

What color hose did you use? I have an orange garden hose that is leaking, I may try repurposing it.

I just used an old green one I had laying around. It was a darker green, not one of those florescent green ones you see. It's a pain to get the islet from the aider to slide through but it can be done.

I have used probably a dozen different sticks. Nothing is even close to the Beast sticks. Its all i use and sold almost all my others. They arent the lightest stick, but how comfortable and stable they are, negates the weight for me.

You guys talking aiders, anybody use shrink tubing for the part you step on? Wondering how it would hold up. Garden hose seems like a good idea.

the folding double steps on the Skeletors are nice and the stand offs are good for winter boots .. the 4 LW's are now the backup set ..

I use 3 Latitude carbon sticks with 3 16" Hangfree amsteel aiders for my mobile setup. My stand is a Hawk Rival Micro and prefer a ratchet strap to secure it to tree because I can get it nice and tight. With that setup I can get well over 20 feet up but I'm also 6'3"

There are a few reasons to replace the LW sticks, aside from saving weight. These include increasing the standoff height (distance from the step to the tree), making the steps longer and wider, and opting for level steps instead of alternating heights. All of these factors contribute to greater comfort, which in turn enhances safety.

There’s nothing worse for my aging body than putting all my weight on a single step that's only 1/4 inch wide. That's a lot of pound / per square inch. At least for me it is! :p

I have two mobile setups where no expense is spared. For everything else, I buy inexpensive, larger steps for semi-permanent setups. For permanent setups, nothing beats a ladder.

As for the aider, I use double closets near the ground so my first stick gets me over head height. I don’t think it’s wise to use an aider on every stick unless you’re young and athletic. Climbing up and down in the dark is risky enough without adding extra variables—especially as the season progresses and the weather gets colder, adding layers to your clothing.

It takes some practice. Going up on aiders is easy, the coming down in the dark can be tricky.

I also use the cable aiders like Adam, already have the shrink tube on them.

I have been trying to avoid promoting products but the Tree Styx is by far the best I have ever used. Aside from them being very expensive...

Thats the one stick i would try. I held them at a show and are very light. They had great standoff distance also. But man, that price! Only thing holding me back from getting them.

Im familiar with that aider. I use a single aider on all sticks. All my sticks are the same, that way i dont have to sort them out. Doesn't matter what one i start with. Keeps it simple. I started using aiders back in 2017. Of course homemade, not much out there then. I used the webbing strap from my cam buckle straps and just tied them to the bottom step. Very crued, but worked.

eric are there for your run and gun set ups? Not the semi or permanent set?

If so take a look at the XOP amstel with the prussit knot, it’s slick set up for sticks. I am sure there are other companies with the same lay out as well
