I am going up to Buck Paradise Outfitters in Saskatchewan next spring for a week long black bear hunt and I was wondering if I should bring or use anything different than I do for whitetails. I currently shoot a Bowtech Invasion at 70.9lbs draw weight. I'm also shooting CE maxima 350's with 100gr Rage two blades. This is the first time I'll be hunting black bears so any advise(gear, field judging, shot placement, etc) at all would be great. Thanks.

That's it? This should be a breeze then lol. Seriously though thanks for that. Will definitely be packing one for the trip. Any other advice for me? How to tell a bigger bear from a smaller one? Boar from a sow?

One thing you can do to roughly judge size is look at the size of the bear's ears compared to it's head. The bigger the ears look the smaller the bear, usually. It's hard to judge boar from sow if there are no cubs present for me at least, but boars generally have blockier heads.

Good to know. I'm really pumped to go but the last thing I wanna do is shoot a sow or an immature boar.

We do have bears in jersey but it up north end of the state and since I've never been before I wanted to use an outfitter. On top of that I've always wanted to go to Saskatchewan for either deer or bears.

Everyone on here will definitely know when I shoot something. However, I wouldn't be that lucky if it wasn't for all the folks on here with great advise. So please keep it coming.
