Carbons are tough and can last a very long time but if ure banging them into each other on the target or hitting rocks on a blow through shot or a miss on a deer you just wanna check em.....better safe than sorry Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
@ Leonidas that is because you canted the bow towards the right as you released your shot, if you're a right handed shooter. Some people call it target panic, some people might call it fatigue from shooting, regardless you really don't need that forearm guard. Make sure you have good form all the time, if you get tired it would be better for you to rest then pick the bow back up. Good Practice makes perfect.
Forearm slapping is usually a result of improper DL fitment. An improper or odd grip can also cant your forearm into the path of the string. Just make sure you get the bow fit to you (again having someone who KNOWS what to look for is helpful and could watch you draw and anchor to make sure you're at the correct DL), and make sure you're not placing too much palm on the grip which will/can cause your forearm to rotate inward.
