Maybe you Bowtech guys can answer a question for me. Is there any significant difference between the Admiral and Captain? Besides the obvious 3" ATA and 1/2" Brace Hieght difference....aren't they prettymuch the same? I shot the Admiral tonight and it is one SWEEEET shooter. That thing feels wonderful when it is in your hand. I really want to try the Captain though, because I think I would like the little bit longer ATA.
The Admiral FEELS better at the shot than the Captain. They draw similar, hold similar, but feel different at the shot, to me.
I'll be able to let you know after a bit... I decided to go ahead and sell my Guardiana and replace it with a Captain, and I've already got an Admiral coming my way. Something about that 34" platform that I just have always loved; it's the perfect fit for me.
The local shop I go to quite a bit relayed the exact opposite to me yesterday......the guys all liked the feel of the Captain better. LOL :d Go figure. I personally liked the Sentinel the best, Awesome balance and shot feel, and FAST but that's just me. (Just a bit long for me for a hunting bow...but for 3D look out)
Just goes to show how the feel of a bow really varies from person to person, I suppose. Could be I'm just prone to liking shorter ATA bows as well, who knows!
I really like the specs on the Captain myself. I am anxious to shoot both. I have never really liked the short ATA as I am a bigger guy. I do plan on picking up an Iceman to use in the turkey blind and on certain hunts. Based on pure specs, I like the Captain for a solid hunting bow. I will most likely shoot 3D with my 101 this year as I will likely face divorce court if I buy 3 bows. The Sentinel looks to make a sweet 3D rig. I will also be curious to see what comes from the Ross line as well.
Got the Captain on order today, so it should be coming in right after the Admiral... and hopefully just before the Iceman.
