As the fields are drying and starting to be harvested, I've noticed a decrease in the number of deer that I see out in the fields. I've also noticed that the white oak acorns are starting to drop. Anyone else seeing this?
Not many white oak acorns in my woods, but the reds are plentiful this year and really starting to drop already.
In behind my house there is a ravine but to the right it is flat and covered in oaks and there is rubs and scrapes and fresh tracks. I've looked at the acorns that is falling and they are kinda small so i'll probably hunt that area later in the year.
Smaller acorns are dropping like nuts right now. I almost arrowed a doe feeding on them this morning but she cut my tracks or smelled me a few yards before I could get a great shot on her. Those doe were munching those acorns.
