I purchased a new bow about 2 weeks ago. I've been shooting it just about every night and making adjustments as necessary based on my groupings. I shot an old Hoyt last year and decided to upgrade and bought a new Mission. However, I'm having trouble staying consistent with my shooting (up and down). I usually shoot a decent group but then let one or two fly high.

Does/Did anyone else have this issue? What did you do that helped this problem?

I also had this problem and just resolved it today actually I got a longer adjustable weight stabilizer and helped greatly out to forty yards even increased my groupings and steadiness at greater distances 50 60 and 70yds

Definitely been considering this. What kind of length/weight did you go with on the stabilizer? I know it's adjustable but just to get a general idea.

What's your grip like? I'm wondering if you're holding on too tight, or not having a long enough follow through. Every time I shoot, I always hold my position and count to 3.

Its def not the bow thats shooting high. Focus on your form. Same form every single time.

I've noticed as I get tired I tend to shoot low. That's when I usually call it quits for the day because my groups will drop an few inches. Also, it sounds simple, but make sure your pin in centered on your aiming point and not below it. I catch myself looking at the aiming point and holding the pin just below it instead of actually holding it on the target so I'll be shooting a bit low.

If you can shoot decent groups and then have a stray arrow that gets away from time to time, 99% of the time it's human error.. I think we all have that arrow that gets away from us from time to time. Best thing to do is continue shooting everyday and make sure you're using the same form every shot.

I notice when I shoot a lot and I'm on about my 20th arrow I start to feel the fatigue and increase my chances of making a bad shot. I start to create bad habits when I shoot too much in one day, I start gripping my bow too hard, not following through correctly and making countless other mistakes that don't make when I fresh.

I went with a 10 in adjustable 0-3 oz weights
I might could have even went longer

When I had similar issues with inconsistent groupings, I just had to turn my arrow over so the cock vane was down instead of up. I had been getting contact from the containment bar on the drop away rest.
