We're jacked!! Matthew's been counting the days down, and we'll be leaving for the Jack's Fork river deep in the Ozarks around noon tomorrow. Going with a friend from church who's got a boy exactly my oldest son's age... This will be our second trip; last time we had one overnight, and this time we're going to do two.

We'll be on the river by 5 p.m. hopefully, and canoe down for a bit before finding a good place to pitch our tents. I picked up a small little $15 grill today at Wally World that's super nice for the price; it's got two racks on it even -- one for the venison backstraps and the other for the venison brats I'll be bringing with me. :d

I asked my buddy last night what we were going to do about dinner each night (I've got a bunch of cans of tuna and protein bars for throughout the day), and he said "I was planning on bringing a couple cans of chicken noodle soup"... Ummmm... maybe he didn't realize I'm trying to get 300 grams of protein a day in...

I've got about 50 1/4-oz. jigs and crawfish-type jig trailers -- the same kind we slaughtered the smallies on last year -- packed up and ready to go. Can't wait; it's gonna be a blast!

Sounds like a fun time Greg, first thing I thought of when I read the title, "how's he going to work out" but then I realized the day off and you'll back for it in no time. Keep at it. Have a good time.

Sounds like a GREAT trip Greg! We've been thinking of doing the Jack's Fork for a couple of years, but I think we might finally do it this Summer. The only type of fishing that I like better than river fishing is saltwater. Have a great trip and be safe!

I'll be getting Legs & Back in around 5:30 in the morning, and I'm going to do a bonus bench & dip session using my new power tower right before we leave to blast the upper body. Been missing pushing some iron, so that'll give me a bit of a fix right as my recovery week starts... I'll miss Kenpo X Saturday morning, but somehow I think I'll make up for the cardio by covering 20 miles of river or so over the weekend...

We've had it planned for about eight months, and the next day I'll miss a workout is when we hook up in Gillette, WY!

Thanks to the rest of the guys; I'll try to get some good pics if I can... it's really beautiful country! Here's a pic from our last trip...

Found this one that shows how pretty the river is:

Good luck and have fun. Take some spinners for the kids to use, very user friendly and they work well for smallmouth
