I've decided to construct myself a new 3D bow, just in time for the end of 3D. Lol. I've been talking to a few people and getting my ducks in a row, and I hope to have it all together by the end of next week. I'm taking my existing '08 PSE Shark X, with the NI single cam, and putting the LF Hybrids on it. I should pick up around 6-10 fps, and just get a better feel. I have no issue with the single cam, I'm just wanting to try something new. I've finished outside the money in Open A, two shoots in a row, where I shot the bow well enough to be inside the top 10, and DEFINATELY the top 5 in Illinois, if not better. I'm just struggling to put a weekend together. I'm holding and shooting the bow better than ever, so it's frustrating me to no end, to not be able to put a finish together. I have the ASA Classic left to win the rest of my money to move out of Open A. Not being able to attend two of the shoots and not drawing a check the last two tournaments has really put the pressure on. I might be shooting Open A next year, even though I want to move up to Semi Pro so bad I can't stand it. Whatever happens, will happen, I still have plenty of time, I'm just 18 years old I guess. Anyway, back to the bow. It should come out to around 38" ATA, 7 3/4-8" BH, 315ish IBO. On paper, it seems like a good mixture. We'll see how it turns out. If I decide I like it, I'll probably have to put some weaker limbs on it, because this will probably beef it up to around a 70pound peak. I may put camo limbs back on it, they're cheaper, lol. Hopefully it all works out, I'll feel kind of proud if it does considering it isn't an offered bow. lol. Here's a before picture and I'll post an after picture when it's all complete.
That's cool. This is my first summer shooting 3D and I've given serious thought to getting a 3D specific bow at some point. I would love to eventually start shooting more then just my local tournaments.
If you get into 3D pretty serious, a 3D specific bow is a great idea. You can find some GREAT deals on 3D bows in the AT classifieds, that could also double as a back up hunting bow.
I never reported back, but this has turned into one heck of a bow. I'm shooting it great and it's probably a 320+ IBO. Here's the picture
