When I see pro-abortionists throw out the 'where do you draw the line'/'what about this scenario or that one'... I see an attempt to draw attention from the real issue: The number of abortions that are killing fetuses with beating hearts or even the horrifyingly large number of abortions that are done to babies that are developed enough to survive outside the womb. Let's focus on that before we start lumping IVF embryos with all abortions. (to both sides of the issue) I draw the 'it's a life' line when the embryo becomes implanted in womb. This lets the IVF people off the hook and certain forms of birth control that does not stop fertilization but does stop implantation. Perhaps it's an abitrary line... but that's where I put it. Destroying IVF embroys does bother me tho'. I know there are some people who will take other people's frozen embryos and have them implanted and bear the child rather than seeing them killed off. But it's a teensy portion of the hundreds of thousand of frozen embryos out there. Anyhow... It really irrates me when women immediately resist any restrictions on abortion (or free birth control) as a 'war against women'. Really? Are we women that helpless that we must have access to unrestricted abortions in order to have 'reproductive rights'? That's insulting. If I were ruler of the world, there would be no legal abortions other than to save the life of the mother. (not mental health issues... but real physical medical issues) However, if I were merely a political leader... I would leave some forms of abortion legal. They would be first trimester only and they would be difficult to get. Not the planned parenthood sales machine type. The reason is that, sadly, illegal abortions would flourish if there was an all out ban.... and both mothers and babies are too often lost to illegal abortionists.
I thought the same this afternoon. This is going to go no where fast. But like a moth to a flame,I was drawn in. Pleasently surprised so far.

REALLY? On the abortion.....I'm against it.[/QUOTE] Let me expound ... I can't say that if someone was in so much pain from a disease and was dying, that I would feel negative towards them for letting a doctor end their pain sooner than later ... of course there would be all sorts of qualifiers ..... where abortion, it disgusts me .... does that clarify it a little? I have preached in youth detention centers, and the one thing that blew me away was the girl's reaction when I brought up abortion. I never thought that it could have affected so many of them. I was just talking about what this world tells you vs what the Bible tells you ... I hit abortion, and many of these 12-16 year old girls started crying .... it occurred to me then the role we ADULTS play mean EVERYTHING in the lives of all children .... adults are telling these girls "its OK!" And they get one and wonder why they feel so bad afterward. ..... God help us....
I believe God holds our very breath in His hand... so I could never do it, nor could I assist or condone anyone one else from doing it .... but I sure would never condemn one who does it ... make sense?
You would condemn someone for murder in the form of abortion but not in the form of assisted suicide?
Please show me where I said I would condemn a person, Ben ... you always seem like you are trying to trip me up....
Question... Why is it that the same states and government officials that say Abortion is not murder will convict a person with two counts of Murder if they kill a pregnant woman.... Seems odd to me
I think Ben is not trying to trip you up Tony, he just confused the difference between condemn and condone.
Because he questions you he's "out to trip you up?" I read MOST of the posts on this forum. I have to. I don't see what you're seeing.
In plain speak.......you are ok with someone making a choice to end a life because it's more convenient and might prevent further pain and injustice and you are not ok someone making a choice to end a life because it's more convenient might prevent further pain and injustice.
I'm not Tony and I wasnt' going to comment on this thread, but its two TOTALLY different things. Abortion, you are making a choice to end someone else's life. Assisted suicide, you're making the choice to end your own. My biggest problem with abortion......if you don't want to get pregnant, its not that hard not to. If you do get pregnant, don't take it out on someone else.
I wonder why YOU have anything to say about this at all??? Ben is a big boy ... he can handle himself ... is it part of being a moderator in your mind?
Moderator schmoderator, its because I'm making an observation about two people I see on this forum a lot. If he accused you, I would have said the exact same thing.
