I was able to fill my buck tag this year on limited time. I had some vacation saved up for rut, but I used it all up a few weeks ago when my dad had A heart attack and got emergency open heart surgery. Dad is now doing well, and I was able to get out and hunt the tail end of rut. He's not a huge deer, but I was happy to get the opportunity to take a buck on limited time. As Fred Bear would say, "any deer harvested with a bow is a trophy in itself." To top it off, I harvested him on my birthday! A little present to myself this year. He was a big bodied deer, plenty of meat. Besides, antlers are too tough to eat hehe
