been shooting for a couple months now and it's hard to believe were two weeks away.
working road construction, it's hard to scout and commit to any trips, but I have a new connection to hunt in northern wisconsin and I AM committing to this one. I will do an october hunt (or two) over there and maybe a late season as well.

I switched bows from a reflex buckskin, to a bear done deal.
man has that been an adjustment.
I started shooting the new bow and it's been extremely different and hard to get used to.
I would shoot a couple sets with it and then a couple with my reflex, then back again and I kept liking my reflex better.
so...I grounded myself from shooting the reflex for two weeks straight and shot exclusively with the bear.
    that helped alot.
the hard draw stop was the biggest thing I needed to get used to.
my string suppressors split and had to wait a week for new ones (free of charge) from bear, so I stated shooting my buckskin once again.
it didn't feel so nice as it did before and I actually started looking forward to shooting my bear again.

the bear is a quiet and smooth bow. about the only sound I get off it is the rubber tube and I can live with that.
the string suppressors are hard on the servings and there is no adjustment on the suppressors themselves so the bumpers keep splitting.

I am now shooting consistent kill shots out to 40 yards and tight groups at 30.
I will kill a buck this year with the bear.

during the off season I might look for another bow. maybe a nice used switchback?

anyhow, the season is fast upon us and as exciting as opening day is, october is when my time is best spent up a tree, speaking of that I need to order new shrink wrap for my climber cables.

I will be setting my cameras yet this weekend or next and my hopes are when I come home with the cards, I will have the buck I have been pursuing for three seasons on film.
maybe even a bonus, the crazy horn buck that I got on camera last year as a 2 1/2 year old

the leaf river camera works good, but I have had trouble with it from time to time.
I will say that the guy I've talked to in their customer service dept., Don? has treated me very well and has helped me out with any trouble.

the camera is not easy to learn how to use however and those with little patience may find it a bit more frustrating than useful.
I find I have the need to re-train myself each season when it comes to using the camera.
