I took this buck a couple of years ago and I decided I wanted to do something different than the standard euro skull mount Something that would tell the story of the hunt. I decided to try something I had never done before. I began with my cleaned skull and decided to carve on the skull. I got the dremel and some new bits and started to pencil my design onto the skull. The story was I took him with archery and had just began to learn flintknapping so I thought a A carved Flintknapped head on his forehead would look neat. Before I shot him a flock of crows had made a noisy fly over me, So I added crow feathers carved into the skull. When I shot this buck he was chasing a hot doe on a sunny morning bow hunt, so I carved him chasing the hot doe into the top of the skull No sooner than I shot him and he ran off, wouldnt you know it but a larger buck came down the same trail not 12 yards from me after the hot doe, so I carved him into the bridge of the skulls nose. Once I was finished carving and polishing I stained it, while the stain didnt work out exactly like I wanted I was still some what pleased with the end results. It was a learning experience and Im really enjoying the process. So in all I ll have to say dont be afraid to try something different with your skull mounts
How cool, I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that to their European mounts. Seen similar on some African items before but not that. Maybe you've found a niche.......
Wow, very nice, you have some talent for sure. never seen that before. You probably could make some extra money subn your talent out. Great job.
That is awesome!!! I would have to hire someone to do that as I well, don't have the patience for the sheer amount of time that would take me to even somewhat come close to even resembling that. Awesome stuff!
That looks awesome! I have never even hear of doing that, If I was going to euro mount a deer I would seriously consider that.
I just choked a little on my own saliva...that is AWESOME! You are a very talented young lady! That's the coolest euro I've ever seen by far. Nice job, I could actually see people paying you to do that and scraping the idea of a full mount alltogether. I love how the carved antlers give the skull an angry feel.
