Just wanted to share as we have many here who are interested in the videography and production aspects of this "sport". As most know I work with Magnus Broadheads on a daily basis (R&D, engineering, video, photos, etc). I threw this new short production together for turkey season as I am always trying to put a fresh twist on proven products. I wanted to throw the twist in of going out to practice shooting, but at the same time dreaming of it being the real thing. This is 100% self filmed and produced.

Anyway ... enjoy ... "Dreaming of Turkey Season"

I think I spend the better part of 3 hours in setup/filming shots the first evening. Then another 2 hours setup/filming shots the next morning. I'd say the edit overall took me 4 hours or so. So not counting the footage of the actual turkey kill (that was a bird I killed in 2018), I'd say I probably dedicated about 9 hours or so to that video that is just over one minute long. It seems like a lot, I know. Probably 2/3 of the video shots were not used, but you have to shoot many angles and many takes because you really never know how it will all look until you sit down to edit and then it is almost to late to go back and shoot more footage. I could probably do the edit a bit faster now. At the start of the year I made the switch from Premiere Pro after 10 years of working with it, to Davinci Resolve 15. I am a dozen or more projects into Resolve now and getting much faster. But still this is probably a 3 hour edit for me today by the time I lay it all out, finesse it down, color grade it, get the music track the way I want, etc.

It is fun because a lot of pride goes into these projects. Then a few weeks goes by and I watch it again and I think to myself "man this would have better had I done this or that ... "
