Not pay the player. Pay the salary as a fine. The Brewers don't have to pay Brauns salary. What is the incentive on the owners part to make sure the players are clean? You want the game cleaned up, hit the owners in the pocket.
OK thanks for clarifying. I'm OK with that. I don't want the cheating scumbag to recieve another dime from MLB. Let him go on the lecture circuit and tell everyone who he stuck with a needle ala Jose Canseco.
Incentive for the owners? Why would you put it on the owners? That's why they have testing...to see if a player is clean and hopefully catch the cheaters. What should the Brewers owner have done to make sure Braun wasn't juicing? Ask him?? Owner- "Ryan are you juicing? Do you cheat?" Braun-- "No I'm clean" Owner--"I believe you. Here take my money" Braun lied to everyone as most cheaters have done until they are caught red handed.
What would keep the owners from loading up on known juicers? If they get suspended, oh well. The owner has nothing to lose. He got production from the cheater and now doesn't have to pay him anymore. I'm just saying, to clean it up, the CBA, owners and the league are going to have to work together. Otherwise, we are just going to continue this charade.
Are you saying you don't think the owners have had ideas over the years on who is juicing and who is not There is no way that these players can sneak it past the trainers and everyone else. Hell the equipment manager even could have figured it out on Bonds...hey your fitted hat size has gone up 2 sizes
As an owner or a fan it's all speculation until a failed test. No need to sneak it past trainers as they don't need to do it in the clubhouse.
