What do you think about the talk of the lifetime ban?

I will start this off by saying I HATE the Yankee's, you cant be born in Philly and had lived outside of Boston and not feel this way. I also dislike all of their players and have NEVER liked A Rod but to give him a life time ban seams crazy to me. Braun being a big p**** and not getting close to the punishment doesn't seam right either.

If they want to clean up baseball and I think that is a good idea, then they shouldn't just go after the players. Lets see them push out the owners that looked the other way for years so they could make $$$$$ they are just as guilty as the players and since all this happened under Selig's watch he should be let go as well.

I certainly agree with everything you mention Tom, especially the Yankee part.

I'd like to see lifetime bans for all the cheaters. If betting on baseball is a lifetime ban then certainly cheating should be.

I doubt they ever get the sport clean unless they make the contracts non-guaranteed. It sucks. I used to be a huge Braun fan and am now disappointed. If arod gets banned for life, he can just appeal, retire, and collect the 60 million he has left on his deal. The only way to stop it is if you get the guaranteed contracts out, and get the owners to agree to not resign Ped users.

All Professional sports need to be overhauled. Braun should get a life time ban and give back his salary for the last 2 years. He is the true definition of an asshat. As for A Rod cut his *** loose too. So sick of these primadonnas ruining sports. Screw them all.

I don't have much of an opinion until knowing what MLB has on him?

I gave up on following professional sports a long time ago. It's kind of funny to me to think back about George Brett and Pete Rose, boy those guys were just awful.

Unfortunately, as long as the owners continue to pay millions of dollars and fans flock to stadiums to see these games you will always have players looking for an advantage over the next guy. It's the nature of competition. It would be a better game if none of them used or there was a fool proof measure to test for PEDs but as long as the money is there somebody is going to take that risk.

A little harsh lol. How anyone can "hate" players like Jeter or Mariano is puzzling. But... moving on...

A-rod? I wonder how many people across the nation are actually wanting to see him play baseball again. I would venture a guess and say maybe a handful. He's toast... done. He was done before this and has just buried himself more. I'd like to see MLB make an example out of him and ban the dude for life. How can you feel sorry for a guy making $28 million a year, probably the most naturally gifted baseball player ever and does this? AGAIN! I don't care if I ever see him on a baseball field again.

I used to be a really big baseball fan. but since a few years back I can't stand to watch anything that has to do with baseball. About the only mlb related thing I do is watch the Buc's and hope for a better season.

I agree, except the naturally gifted part. There are reports of him juicing since his sophomore year in high school. The only natural thing about Aroid is his dikkish attitude.

Mcqwire and Sosa did bring baseball back when it was basically dead.

The health risk involved are pretty great. The liability issues are even greater. Baseball will be held accountable, if they allow it. Regardless of whether they should be.

Then to add to the problems of allowing it. How would you keep high school and college players from doing it if allowed in the majors? It is a major health risk.

The NFL basically allows it and no one cares.

I HATE the Yankmees (not typo). But I need to know the evidence. I'm not going to take the word of a guy the Feds are putting the squeeze on. That said, if there is evidence of him cheating after he was with the Rangers, ban him and anyone else they find. Lifetime ban--- no HOF--no more$$$-- you are just done!!!!!!!!

The no more money part is something I have a hard time with. If you are a team owner and you know that player X is juicing, you could sign him with no risk. If he gets caught, the league just gave the owner a get out of jail free card to sign another player that is using. There is no incentive on the owners to make sure the players are clean. I think to clean it up, make the player lose the salary and the team pay it as a fine to some charitable organization. There are no easy answers, but tearing up contracts is a slippery slope.

Let me get this straight.... A player is found guilty of cheating... and you want the team to continue paying his salary? What kind of *** backwards philosophy is that? And what message does it send...It's OK to cheat kids, cause if you get caught you will still get paid!!!
