I just read this quote, by Derek Jeter, that I really think sums up bowhunting, especially when its shoot time. "The bigger the situation, the more the game speeds up. That's all mental. It messes people up. You think, 'I've got to do this, I've got to do that' when in reality all you have to do is the same thing you've always been doing. Slow it down. Realize you've been in this situation before. You've been successful in this situation before. Be calm. The more you can do that, the more pressure you take off yourself and the easier it is to perform."
Very nice, Muzzy... thanks for sharing. I'd agree: I'd bet 90% of errors when a big buck shows up are for this very reason.
Now read it as the guy who was able to finally convince that really hot chick from the bar to come home with him. Works there too.
I agree 100% also. Last year I had my first opportunity at a good buck, a 160 class 10 pt. All I remember thinking through the whole encounter was, This is actually going to happen, This is actually going to happen, well, it didn't. Shot sailed high.
My favorite quote from another archery site was posted and said: "Paddle faster, I think I hear banjo's"
