It isn't that I wouldn't be happy with him now, clearly I would. It just isn't everyday a guy has the possible potential, a very real potential to follow a deer passed 200"

Hard to say man, guess that is my big question... what would one more year do??? He isn't so old yet that he would go down, although he may not even break 200 next year but I am almost certain he would be a true giant.

I have essentially been hunting this deer since I killed Grandpa last year. Could I kill him easily?? Define easily lol I do think I can kill this deer. Maybe not today but I have a damn good chance within the next couple weeks. I just cant shake the other possibilities. It literally kept me up last night. I didn't hunt him this morning as it isn't a great spot for a AM hunt. BUT I am head out that way here shortly. I guess we will see what happens if I am blessed with an opportunity lol

This is an easy one, TJ ... you know you got this guy ...I know I can kill a dink ...coulda almost every time I've gone out ...I don't want to ... I won't ...and now there is a confirmed 140+ in the one area I hunt (be there tomorrow), I don't know if I would pull the trigger on a 120" and I have never shot a 100"!

Let him go one more year to give you the best chance of killing him if and when he is 200" ... that is my advice

If you're passing 180" deer, you need to climb back over the fence...

    I know I wouldn't pass on the 180 or the 150.

I think you would regret it down the road if you passed him and never saw him again.

There's a reason pros like Bill Winke, Lakosky, Kisky, etc, etc, don't pass 180" deer.

Take him Down, just the anxiety of wondering where he is is murder on the mind, hope differed makes the heart grow sick and that would be an easy call from my POV.

my last comment was just my opinion but if you already have a 180" and you feel comfortable passin him up, then by all means do it. I wouldn't because where I hunt, im lucky to even see a buck. But im guessin you have more luck than me seeing as you've already got a 180" down. Just do what you want man. Your deer, your mind, your choice

The real question is will you regret it if you shoot him this year? I have never killed a 150 or 180 so I would definitely shoot. You have experience killing big boys so you're the only one who knows how you'll feel about killing him. Good luck with whichever choice you make.

    Thomas,

The way i look at it, if you could kill a 180" buck 3 years in a row, that would be more of an accomplishment then killing one 200" buck.

Anybody can have a 200" deer walk by, but it shows true woodsmanship to have 180" deer walk by every year...
