The Spider is set to take on Forrest Griffin at UFC 101 in Philly...

One thing's for sure, Forrest will bring it!

I just heard that myself. WOW, that should be quite interesting.. If Forrest beats him though that would kind of take away the mysterious thoughts of a Fedor/Silva fight wouldn't it?

That's actually being talked about, though I doubt they could pull it off... Dana never could sign him for a fight against Randy, and that was a more intriguing matchup to me. I honestly think Fedor would destory Silva within the first three minutes.

Guys I will tell you right now. Anderson will win fairly easy. Forrest has heart but his striking is no where near Silva. Silva plays to the level of his opponent if Forrest is aggresive look for a Ko by Silva. If Forrest is cautious it will be another boring match with Silva throwing great strikes then backing out and chopping Forrest down. I won't bet my life but pretty much anything else. This match is one that interests Silva so I will be looking for a Anderson that will capitalize on any mistake Forrest makes and Anderson won't be letting it go into late rounds. And finally Forrest is not a finisher he grinds it out and wins decisions and I don't see him grinding out Anderson. If Forrest does submit it is usually rear naked choke and I don't see Silva giving up his back. Just my opinion.

Tribal, I think I agree pretty much with your assessment of the fight as well... as much as I'd like to see Forrest win. ;) :d

Lets just say Forrest has a good chin and Im fairly certain he is going to need it. No way he submits Silva either(imo). The only guy I've seen give Silva any trouble was Travis Lutter(the title fight Lutter didn't make weight for). Lutter ended up gassing out and getting caught in a leg scissor triangle(in Silvas guard) where just his head was exposed and Silva struck him til he tapped in round 2 but I felt the first round showed some areas Silva may be vulnerable. A stronger guy who can avoid the strikes and either get him against the cage or take hin down could probably pound out at least a decision in theory. He would have to have good jitsu himself and get past the strikes. Can't think of anyone that fits that description right off the top of my head though.

Or just throw another dynamic fighter like GSp in there with him and flip a coin on that one.

Keep in mind we are debating this and Forrest is considerably larger than Silva. Forrest is a big dude. I mean Silva has to move up and fight the #2 ranked Light Heavyweight who is a big light heavyweight at that just to stay interested and maybe have a challenge. Seriously, Gsp is the closest to Silvas level in the UFC as far as most rounded but I don't think he has the chin to hang with Silva. Don't get me wrong anyone can win in MMA but if were a betting man which I am too poor to do so, I don't see anyone beating Silva unless he has a off day. But everyone has a punchers chance just ask Matt Serra when he KO'd GSP. Can you say Fluke.

Serra GSP 1 is in the top 5 on my Most Dissapointing Fights List. Even though GSP redeemed himself convincingly it showed a big ***** in his armor. I think the thing he definitely would have trouble with is Silvas striking but I also feel like his wrestling is off the charts good and that can be a huge advantage. Either way it went I would love to see that fight.

Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua, imo, would be Silva.
Forrest beat Shogun. Also beat Rampage. imo, beat Tito.
I never count Forrest out. He is a tough SOB. He is also a smart fighter.

Like Silva, Forrest is a counter striker. so it could be a good back and forth exchange.

I agree with Greg/MO. Fedor would beat Silva in three min.
