Seeing a lot of deer during a hunt is actually very detrimental to actually killing the one you really want... End of rant
Yep. Happend to Jill twice while bowhunting our property in WI. One was a 140"+ 10 an the other a 150"+ 10. Too many eyes to fool.
Oh quit whinning :D you buckeyes beat us Hoosiers up pretty bad yesterday in foolsball :D what more could ya ask for!!
I took to the trees last night... well actually the last couple nights. Just buck hunting so far and the 4 pt likes running the edge of the trees. I had 3 does and 3 fawns underneath me all at once. 5 does and 3 fawns total for the hunt. Had I been on the ground it would have been ugly. LOL It was soooo nice and I was able to move to keep an eye on them and watch for the buck. Two deer is too many when hunting on the ground... you tree huggers have it made. LOL Now before anyone takes that as an insult... NOT ONCE did any of the does look up so I was working with an uneducated crowd. One of the does did get down wind and got a whiff but moved back under my tree and was picking apart the ground around her trying to find me. I was grinning right above her. She got finally bored and walked off. Not once did she blow. Like I said it would have been ugly if I had been on the ground. I wished the other bucks I am interested in had trees by them. I envy you guys in that reguard. Tim
I know right at dark last evening, the 2 young bucks that were sparing in the field were 2 too many. I wanted to leave but I didn't even want to alarm those two rascals. They'd eat, then spar, eat then spar, then lick each other then spar. When they finally moved off enough, I snuck down and out.
