It's going to be a windy week for most of the midwest and upper midwest. A strong low pressure system could wreak havoc on some parts up North. Shouldn't be many leaves left on the trees by Halloween.
I am in mo and are leaves are hardly starting even turning colors yet,we need rain bad acorns are spotty all of are beans are out and the corn is still standing with the ears looking like there going to fall off my two persimmon trees dropped all there fruit almost over night and something cleaned them up.. gone time to move that stand.
are ten day here in southern ok says were finally going to be in the low 40s at night and low 70s at day so the bucks should start getting around
I'm hunting south east mo, and there's no shortage of white oaks and acorns where I'm at. The persimmon trees on the property still look pretty good (but they're not in the greatest spots for deer stands). Looks like we're getting some rain tonight. I sure hope that wind is reasonable this week. I was planning on starting my all day sits.
So, I'm depressed now, looks like Tuesday is going to be 30mph winds where I hunt.. that means one less day hunting this week.. #(*$&)(@#*&%!
Man.... the weather keeps looking more and more grim. Now there are 30-40mph gusts with steady winds 15-25mph for the first three days of the week.. Oh how my life is sucking right now >.>
I'm out hunting now through tonight knowing I won't be out till Thursday morning with all the wind that is coming
Now they are calling for some pretty significant severe weather for eastern Iowa and Missouri and most of Illinois, with West central and northwestern Illinois possibly getting the brunt of it. Should happen after hunters are out of the woods, but anyone in these areas should check the forecast if heading out this evening. Could get pretty bad really fast.
I'll be back out friday hopefully things will be calmer by then, suppose to back in 50's for highs so hopefully that holds true.
Looks like it's going to hit Southern Michigan, Indiana and Ohio pretty hard tomorrow as well. Going to have widespread 70mph + winds with a full day of 30mph winds and stronger gusts behind it, unfortunately it's looking like a lot more than just leaves may come down from eastern Iowa/Missouri all the through Ohio over the next 2-3 days. Stay safe everyone.
Some of my biggest buck sitings have been in steady to to hard winds,so i like this, hoping for rain because i can go out and collect some trail cams during the daytime.
I know I've said it a few times but it bares repeating, Eastern Missouri and now most all of Illinois has been placed in a moderate risk for severe winds and isolated tornadoes for the early morning hours. Night time storms are dangerous enough, but most people will not be aware of this current system as Fall is not normally associated with severe weather.
It has definitely got the potential to be a very bad situation. Here is a link to the SPC site if anyone wants to look at the risk areas. Tomorrow it will move through Indiand, Ohio and parts of Southern Michigan. I just want to do what I can to inform people http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day1otlk.html
