Tony, that could be the case.

As this bird was coming in the final distance. I peaked out to see a blue head come sprinting across the cut corn field. I got soooo excited. I was giving Ben a play by play as of yet, he couldn't see the bird. I was like, he's coming, he's coming get ready, draw you bow, "Should I draw" You mean your not drawn? Draw your bow! " I see him" And as excited as I am, I know Ben so at the very last second to calm him in case I had him rattled I breathed and said, calm down, pick a spot.

And so Ben did! He put the smack down on that Tom! Nice shooting Ben.

It was my pleasure being there.

    Thanks all.

Congrats again Ben. That's a great bird and a great story too. It's a beautiful thing when it works out like that.

    Thanks Mike.

My brother is coming down to my house/hunting area tomorrow and we are gonna try to work this same plan again. I will be calling/video. Should be fun.

Ben, went out yesterday and had some close calls but the gobblers just wouldn't close the distance. Headed out this morning, hopefully the weather holds out.

Again, congrats on a great bird!

    Take care,

    Brian

Doesn't look pretty at this point bud. Future radar looks like it's gonna clear through around 7:30. My brother already canceled and we are hunting a blind:). He's fair weather, I am waiting to hear from my in laws to see who wants to come up to the blind with me. I am tagged out, sitting in camo at 4:53 am, just rearing to get out in a thunderstorm, my wife thinks I am nuts, maybe I am, who knows.:)

My butt is back on the couch, feeding my 10 month old. That rain was relentless. When it breaks, I'll be loading up the mower and weed eater to head to the river for some cleanup.

Well as I set up my first decoy the rain started. Hear three gobblers on the roost before the rain, but that was it. I was hunting without a blind and yes my butt got soaked. Saw some deer but the turkeys were a no show. Hopefully if my son's baseball game get's cancelled and it statrs to clear I'll head back out. Can't kill'em sitting on the couch.

    Take care,

    Brian

LOL, Matt / PA and I got er dun!

It was with a gun and after the rain but we heard a gobble with the thunder after a crack of lightning.

Matt's 2010 Longbeard, 23 lbs, 10.5" beard and 1 1/4 spurs. What a great day despite the rain and the wind.
