Well today I went up to our Lone Pine State Park Archery Course, we have baled carpet with animal targets on them at different unknown yardages. After I finished the 7 target course with all arrows placed in the kill zones. I decided to shoot at target #3 on the way back, but from the road and not where the marker is located. I needed to check out my E-Z-V Sight at an extreme unknown distance. After the shot, I stepped off the paces and when I got to the target I had paced off 104 paces, which calculates to 86.66666666666667 yards. The first photo was as shot from where I was standing, #2 was taken from where the target was, and I placed an X back on the road where I was shooting from. #3 is my killing shot. www.ezvsight.com 87 Yard Shot by MWJon, on Flickr
Nice. The shot in this pic was at 80 using the bubble on my sight for elevation. This was after a Robin Hood while setting the 50 yd pin. Gotta stop shooting groups.
I usually do. But it wouldn't have mattered. Marked distance on an outdoor range. It's a new bow and I was still seeing what it can do. Sorry if it seemed I was trying to out-do you. I wasn't. I suck at judging yardage and I never work on it. If it's over 40 and I don't have time to range it, I'm not shooting. Kudos to you and everyone else that works on yardage judging. God forbid the battery for my rangefinder ever quits on a hunt.
ksWThntr no harm no fowl... the really awesome thing about the E-Z-V Sight is you just don't need to use a range finder, as you place the V between the shoulder and last rib of the target or game. So no matter if your at 57 yards, your in the money etc. I plan on returning to that archery course with a large bison cutout that I have, the is colored pretty much like the real deal
