Hello, My name is Greg Dykstra and I'm a bowhunter. Well, a bit more than a bowhunter actually. You could say that I obsess about it. Long range shooting, and bowhunting are my two passions. A good friend of mine shares the obsession and we climbed the tree together for the first time and attempted to get some video of our bowhunting, also for the first time. This hunt took place yesterday morning. (oct 22) We had a lot of fun doing our first video, and I hope you enjoy it.

I'm the guy wearing the scentlok bean cover. My friend Scott is the guy wearing the cap and shooting a recurve. This should prove once and for all that a wheel bow and a stick bow can coexist in harmony!

One of the best videos I've seen. Great job on the doe harvest and very nice job putting it on tape. Thanks for sharing.

great video, just me 2 cents i would tell your buddy to get a new harness i noticed he was wearing a old style chest strap type harness. unless i missed something i suggest you have him get another harness. im sure you want to share more years of hunting with him, it would be in his best interest to get a full body harness.

Thanks for sharing the Video intro....perfect!
    How high were your stands?
Looked pretty steep more than 20' just guessing maybe 25' just curious?

I've talked to him about his harness many times, and tried to get him to switch to a Hunters Safety System's harness like I wear. He's very traditional, as you can see by his choice of bow... and changing to modern equipment is met with some resistance. He uses what works for him, as we all do.

The stand we shoot out of is right at 26ft to our feet. The video stand is about 2ft higher than that.

    Nope, no relation.

We're in eastern South Dakota. I'm thinking we'll have more video to share before the season is over. :)
