Simon apparently has never seen the business end of a gun. I'm glad no pissed off dad ever shot me for taking the skin boat to tuna town. But I'm not going to lie.....it was in the back of my mind several times, and there were a few girls that I wouldn't date due to the father. One guy reminded me of Charles Bronson....I wanted no part of that dude! :D

Ever had a gun pointed at me...no

    Come from a good family....yes

I would like to hear if anybody ever had a gun drawn on them from a dad and actually had him use it? My whole point is that i doubt any one of you would shoot a boy for being a boy (rape, murder and assault not included of course)

Well, no gun pointed at me but I got caught with a girl on her parents couch. Dad picked me up by my throat (I was a 230lb football player at the time) threw me across the living room, grabbed a kitchen knife and chased me down the street. I left my car and didn't come back until I was sure he left for work. I got in my car and never talked to the girl again. Dad's message was loud and clear. The only thing that saved me, I believe was the fact he didn't own a gun. I ended up working with the guy about 10 years later. He told me if he had a gun he would have killed me. Of course that was after the fact.

Now as the father of a 12 year-old daughter, I just plan on sharpening my sword when boys show up.

I'm being completely serious here: If I had a daughter, and I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that a boy had raped her, I wouldn't shoot him.

But they'd be looking for him for a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

    Shooting leaves too much evidence.

Find some quail eggs(2)...hard boil them and put them in a jar, when Junior comes in walk him over to the jar and explain it's the remains of another guy that had thoughts of nasty things about "daddies little girl"! Walk him to door and give him a curfew and smile at him as they leave.Fear is a great key to psycology on the younger generation!I've threaten to neuter my own son if he starts getting too head strong!:d

I'm trying to remember how the line went, something like...
" I have 5 acres of land, a shovel and nobody is going to miss you" !!!

Easy boys :d On a good note he had her home by 10:00, I have trust in my Daughter, She has been absoultly no trouble to us so far, she is a good kid!! Like i said the guys have been trying to lasso her for along time and she has been real picky. Her friends have been on the boyfriend scene for along time and she is just now joining the band wagon. She is a looker and could have been mixed up in boys long ago but chose to wait a while. Were proud as parents as how all three of our kids turned out after hearing alot of our friends problems with there kids, I think we did a good job raising them. My Daughter knows me, anything happens to her or my family would be a bad mistake on his part and im sure my Daughter would make him aware of that. Besides I had a muscle shirt on when i met him and the 16.5" guns hanging out :deer: :d
This is my pride and Joy,,, winter ball last year!!

Sounds like the night was a success with them returning at decent time and sounds like the young lady has herself together by not rushing the dating scene.Good parenting is a big part of that I'm sure.:hail: I always believe that educate our children to the best of our abilities, love them, and show it and when we send them out maybe they will make good decesions on their own.

I remember it well... walked in, he was cleaning his Desert Eagle, had a 9mm on the table, then grabbed a knife he had been sharpening earlier, sliced a piece of paper down the middle and said "She'll be home by 11." I looked him in the eye and said 10:30 it is!.... and believe me when I say we were in the driveway at 10:25.

Now as the father of 16, 15 and 4 year old girls... made sure the boy came in the house and had a sit down with him. Told him what was allowed and wasn't, what the expectations of behavior would be, and the time our oldest would be home. They're still dating after a year. He's not such a bad kid, but he has a healthy fear of what me or her mom would do to him...:uzi: :whip: :ninja: Guess all you can do is hope you've taught her well, and pray hard, brother.

I raised 4 daughters and their crowd hung out at my house. I knew them all and they always went out as a group. All the kids knew me for their whole high school life as my house was the meeting and gathering place. We as parents were stern with the gatherings in so much as no drinking or smoking was allowed and they were always respectful and the bunch was a great group. Had no problems thru those HS years. All have married guys outside of that group but they all do stay in touch with me and my wife and each other. They were some great years I will always cherish. Hope all you fathers will be as lucky as I was as you enter this time in your lives.

As a bunch of you know I've been "away" as a guest of the state. That was a long time ago but I still have my parole discharge papers. When my Lily starts dating I'm going to have the young man read my parole papers. I'll point out to him it was for Ag assault and let him know I've been feeling restless. That will ease some of my worries I think.

i can't help but to think about my own father reading this thread. my first boyfriend (after i moved in with my dad only a few years back) and i were simply holding hands walking to my house as my dad drove by. when we met up with him at the house he just stands there looking at him then says "If i ever see you holding my daughters hand again i'll rip your arms off and beat you with them." yeah...that relationship didn't last long. then when i introduced him to my last boyfriend he shakes his hand but then wouldn't let go saying "i better not ever catch you in my little girls room. if i do my gun locker's right in her closet waiting for you."

i only wish he was joking...it really is in my closet...
