My Father inlaw killed this buck this season with a firearm. He had just taken up Deer hunting three years ago, and is pretty much a meat hunter. His biggest until now was a 4 point I believe and a spike. He has his own property that he food plots, plants trees and is pretty much for the Grandchildren's use. After Kiling this buck he came to me and ask if I would make a plaque for it, and he was secretly going to give it to my oldest son Dalton to remember him by. Dalton is always there helping him with the mowing, filling feeders in the off season, planting plots and trees, because he loves spending the time with him, and loves doing those things. (My kid is a good hearted person ;)) He was just wanting a wooden plaque but I thought that would be to tacky with skull bone showing, SO, I camu up with this for him. The plaque is sasafrase and I still have to clear it yet. I made the schroud out of a 6" styrofoam ball cut in half and carved out and shaped. The material is, :D get this, a Royal Crown whiskey bag that I had laying around :D I told him I would make him this project especially when he welled up and said this might be his last season hunting :(

    Unbelievable.

Talk about thinking along the same lines. I've been meaning to send you a PM today...

I'll try to get it off to you tonight as I need to go put about seven traps in right now; the temps are supposed to DROP tonight... should have the critters moving well. Talk to ya later.

What a fantastic job. Very talented.

I have a bunch of racks just piled in the basement and you have given me a wonderful idea. I'm gonna go buy a case of crown and get "busy". May be unable to post for a while. lol

Very impressive bloodcrick! What did you use to shape the foam ball? I was gonna use plasteraparis(sp?) but that looks much easier
