Like ive posted about before, me and Isaac have been busy as hell lately with school. Im in Paramedic and he's taking EMT at the moment. Still, weve been trying to get outside as much as possible.

Our usual summertime hobby is catfishing, but this year weve ventured into a new venture, river fishing. Our fish of choice has been the Smallmouth.

Oh, and we got out a little for turkey season too :moose:

Few pics from some recent fire department events, the mock crash i posted about and a girl scout first aid class we taught...

The cob gobblers that me and Isaac both harvested 9if anybody gets a chance, ask cfdjay about how good of a bow shot he is):

Still chasing big channels when i get an afternoon off:

And then the river and the smallies:

And the biggest chub i have ever seen:

Sounds like we have been doing the same things... except for the EMT training.

Come on down, I catch them pretty easily most nights as long as the water is running. I caught 6 or 7 in the 4-8 pound range last night. I couldn't get the channel cats to leave my baits alone... they love to chew on the live shad but their mouths aren't usually large enough to get the hook. I did catch one 22 inch spotted bass as well.

You are teaching the future of our country. We're screwed...or at least Ohio is...not like it can get any worse.

Good stuff, youngster. Those are nice smallies for a ditch that size.

Pretty much all I've been doing. Actually going to head to the stream here in a little bit and try for some smallies.

The highlight of my turkey season was the first day I was out. The rest of the season was tough for me.

Yeah it was on a fly. I believe that is the second biggest muskie my brother has caught. It hit right at the boat so we both got to see it happen. It was pretty cool.

You always post pictures of fish that your brother caught. Do you ever catch any fish? Or are you just the net man? It is ok if you are, my wife is a very proud net (wo)man.

The only thing close to that I have ever caught is a huge (to me) "Gator Gar" while catfishing one night.

Well these are the photos I have on my camera. Its kind of hard to photograph myself. Muskie fishing is kind of a team deal, though. We don't usually say "he", or "I" if we caught one. We always say "we". It doesn't always take 10,000 casts.

But yeah, I catch a muskie here and there. All other fish are just filler.

    Sweet!

We should start a fishing pics thread for everyone to update through the season.........

I've been fishing some as well. Only been out 4x times, one of which was from shore. Nothing as cool as Vito though.....we had no snow to melt off and because of that the water temps warmed way too fast, primetime for big pike was over before the season opened.......we didn't even go this year. I have been bass fishing though since early April, only had the boat on the water two times but have managed to do pretty well with one 50+ fish day. I'll also spend 3 days on the water this weekend and will finally get up to Champlain, my favorite fishery. Tournament season starts in 2 weeks on Champlain and I can't wait!

PS: I think the fish pic thread has now been started and Pandora is running loose.

    Those are some pigs, Matt!

Do you buy the skirts for the jigs you make, or make the skirts yourself?

    Thanks guys!

Vito - We buy the skirt materials (silicone, rubber, wire, collars, rattles, etc) but assemble and build them ourselves. A lot of our colors are multiple types of skirt material combined so most are unique.
