Honestly, I think that WVGA stands for Wide VGA and I believe it like 800x480 or 5:3 ratio. So it can take a lot of small photos very quickly, but when you go to utilize it, the quality can be lost when you enlarge it to a "full screen" size. But it certainly is cool for the slo-mo shots but honestly, you could probably do the 720@120 and have a pretty good compramise. My new video camera is 4k, but I haven't messed with the 4k on my gopro. So the way that Brandyn, the BHOD camera guru and editor explained 4k to all of us dumb guys... is that if 1080p take a series of photos to create video that is 8"hx10"w (for easy figuring), then the photos that the 4k camera records are 16"hx20"w. So, when you crop it back down to 1080, you can use any 8x10 portion of that 16x20" image. So essentially it zooms in and has better detail. If anyone else can explain this better... please feel free. lol
gotcha, that makes sense. basically the 4k allows you to crop "down" to a 1080 picture with distorting or sacrificing quality,, if im understanding you correctly
