A little help aging this buck

    Just picked up this buck on the cam, he's a new buck that I haven't seen before. From the looks of him, I think he is gonna make the hit list this year. I wanted to get a little help aging him though. Let me know what you guys think of him.

    What kind of steady food sources are in your area ? As I've learned, that plays a huge part in aging a deer.

    I'm NO expert, but, I would personally say 3.5..

    Thanks all....this guy was a bit of a surprise to me. As you can see he looks as if he has already shed his velvet. All the other bucks on the property at this time were still in FULL velvet. He also is a much bigger bodied deer than the other bucks if got on camera. I'll be keeping an eye out for this guy this season for sure!

    I'm leaning towards 3 1/2 (wish you had other pictures)-I wouldn't count out 4 1/2 yr old based on this one picture either.

    I would say 2.5 at most, his front side of hi body is really lean. Most 3.5 I have seen are a bit heavier then that.

    In my opinion its a 2.5 yr old deer. Im no expert by all means......BY ALL MEANS
