I headed to the lease Friday afternoon to move some stands around and put up a couple of trail cams to take inventory of the pigs. I packed in and hung a feeder in a place I knew pigs were hitting hard... I got everything setup and went to pull the first stand down and, well... someone had already pulled it down for me and forgot to leave a note as to where they took it. Awesome . Knowing immediately the probably outlook for my other stands on the creek bottom, I went to check. My results... the same. This place is getting let go next year... there are some good deer but it's not anywhere near worth providing crooks with free stuff.

All in all, 3 stands (of mine), 1 set of climbing sticks, 28 tree steps and 2 EZ Hangers... The only good news is that they didn't find my Moultrie I40 that was setup about 60 yards from one of the stands...

No idea who it is, but I'm assuming it's coon hunters or hog hunters running dogs at night. They didnt' find any of the stuff that wasn't in the actual creek bottom. If I would have found them doing it, they may have been in the creek bottom themselves.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

It always amazes me how hunters can steal from hunters. Also dosen't the thought go through their head I'm stealing from a guy who comes here to kill things.

Catching someone stealing my hunting stuff would be one instance where I'd be darn tempted to shoot someone... I may aim for thigh instead of dead center mass, but this crap just happens entirely too much.

Let about 10 cases across the country hit the national news of people getting shot for attempting to steal stands, and the next person may think long and hard about it...

Of course, I know our country's too far gone in the pisser for something like that to actually happen, but I'd certainly be willing to help turn the tide.

Fats: Sorry for the teaser, I definitely didn't have "that" happen :(

    Ben: it's about 80 miles

Jeff/Jason: Yep checked the cam and all I have is deer and pigs, no lowlifes...

I'm going to post it this afternoon after I shoot a 3D. At least try to keep them off of it a little bit for turkey and pig hunting. I'm thinkin about hiding a camera on the road going in as I've got my feeder set up as "bait." If I had any anthrax I might soak the rope that holds up the feeder.

    Dubs,

That just blows! Makes me want to don my ninja garb and throw chinese stars...

I built an innocent looking bird house and attached it to a tree on the road going into my property. There's a video camera inside. Works great!
