I really have no idea why in the world the Yankee's would have this guy starting tonight... I know that they paid him big money but he hasn't performed this season. Yea, his stats are bad for the season... but he is absolutely stinking this game up tonight. I would much rather see Chamberlin pitching tonight instead of being in the bullpen.
I agree, but Chamberlain has just a good a chance of imploding as anyone. Burnett has earned his money...LOL another good example of spending alot of money can and will backfire.
Yea, but I think Chamberlin is better under pressure. As far as the money goes... I know that most people HATE the Yankees for it... but (as a Yankees fan) I appreciate the fact that they are willing to spend the money to please the fans. I have spent too many years watching my "hometown team" (Pitt Pirates) sell off any and every single promising player because they didn't want to pay the price to keep them. I saw something on ESPN that was AMAZING to me... if the Pirates would have kept their best players since 2006, they would have an All-Star (atleast at some point in their career) for every position!
Seriously, this game is just weird... I gotta give the Angels PROPS for that wicked start though!!! I don't care who you are, that was good!
I agree.. that Angels got off to a great start.... but that just seems to how Burnett roll's. He starts off horrible and then settles in when its too late!!
BM, very true, and I love my Braves. I actually have nothing but good things to say about the yanks, they spend it, but they also put a quality product out there that returns the money. I have watched my Braves return to the Pirate mentality since Ted sold us to a faceless owner. Winning stopped about the same time, the yanks starting 1st baseman (TEX) wore our uniform and we would not pay him to stay. We always pay the chitty ones big money but fewer years. We would give Tex 20 mil a year, but only 4 years when he wanted at least 6 to 8. But hey, we gave Derrick Lowe 15 mil a year because he agreed to just 4 years, what the heck.
I hear ya.... Tex has been a beast.... he may not be putting up huge offensive numbers... but some of his plays at 1st have been simply amazing! I would have to say that he is a major step up from Giambi!
