As I've seen, and most people see in the sport, you either like the Steeler's or you hate them. A lot of the dislike stems from the fans. I thought I would prove that I'm not a one sided fanatic fan:D I missed the second half of the game last night, because, in all honesty, the Ravens were simply out playing the Steeler's in every aspect. After watching the highlights of the second half, while I'm happy with the way the Steeler's came back, their OL showed up, and their level of play was much better, it was more the mistakes of the Ravens that made the difference in that game. If the Ravens would have played their second half much like their first half, I'm not sure the outcome would have been the same. A win is a win, but they (the Steeler's) need to be REALLY clean next week, because frankly, I'm assuming they'll be lining up against the Pats. Good game, nonetheless. See Buck Magnet, not all Pitt fans are jerks:D
Movie date with the wife is more important. With only every other weekend off, we try and take advantage of the time we have. Plus I was getting updates on my phone during the movie:D
I watched the game and I disagree with this.... "I thought I would prove that I'm not a one sided fanatic fan:D I missed the second half of the game last night, because, in all honesty, the Ravens were simply out playing the Steeler's in every aspect." The Steelers defense took it to the Ravens and the Steelers offense scored 31 points. What more do you want for a team to do in the playoffs? Baltimore had less than 200 yards of total offense.
Flozell Adams blows! He is awefull. I know Suggs, Lewis and Reed are awesome, but Adams got his jock handed to him soooo many times.
I was referring to the first half, VS. The second half, the Steeler's showed up, but there were a lot of mistakes the Raven's made during the second half that certainly could have made the difference in a W/L. The questionable holding call on the punt return TD, Anquan Boldin's dropped pass in the endzone, the botched snap, etc, etc. The point being, I understand mistakes like these happen, but the fact that the Steeler's put themselves in a position during the first half where these plays could have made the difference is the problem. I'm not sure with a sloppy first half like they had last night would result in the same outcome against a team like the Patriots, or if they're lucky enough, a team like GB in a possible SB meeting.
Their OL is questionable, but both teams secondaries weren't as much of a factor as I thought they would be.
Trust me Matt, you are nothing like a majority of the fans around here... they are talking about how the refs were trying to screw the Steelers but it didn't work because "they killed the Ravens". I just can't find myself to be like the fans around here who are entirely blind to the game, they just talk trash and if the Steelers win its because they "killed the other team".... they cried all season about cheap shots but those same fans won't admit that the Steelers had a good amount of dirty plays yesterday. I just can't stand how one sided their minds are, they can't admit to any negatives with the Steelers, they just blame it on the refs.
I USED to like the Steelers. Then I went to a Ravens/Steelers game one time. They quit selling beer near the end of the game. There was a big steeler section to my right and just below me. Empty beer cups were filled with urine and tossed down onto the Ravens fans below. Men, women, kids. It became ugly real quick but from somewhere about 50 cops showed up at once. Lots of people escorted out and some cuffed. That's just crude and distasteful. Screw the steelers.
In the playoffs, games are rarely "clean" or easy for anyone involved. You have to become an animal to survive and the players understand this and respond accordingly. It is do or die.
Yeah, I'm pretty stupid. Care to educate me? Oh, you must have misread the title of the post, and all of the dialogue in it. I AM a Steeler's fan. Just my observations from the game. Vs, I understand that fully. I'm not saying they didn't play well (maybe I'm not making myself clear). The first half was sloppy, agreed? The Steeler's entered the second half trailing by two scores. They came out swinging in the second half (great football). The Raven's? Not so much. With that being said, all of the plays/situations I mentioned in my last post WOULD (key word) led to a different outcome of the game had the catches been made, holing call not made, etc. Did it? Nope. I'm just saying, I hope they play 4 clean quarters in the AFC championship. What's so wrong with that?
MGH, I agree they came out sloppy. If it were a boxing match, they were close to getting knocked out. BUT they are in the AFC championship game and not many teams can say that with as much frequency as do the Steelers.
I like to see the Steelers' do well because of Muarkice Pouncey. He does the Gator Nation proud and was selected to the Pro Bowl as a rookie! I know a lot of fans genuinely believe he should have been in the discussion for Rookie of the Year for his stellar play this year.
