Cams have been super slow thus far, and really have only had very young bucks until this last pull, still have not really seen any familiar faces from last year, but the action is at least picking up!
Don't give up yet. I don't know your property but it seems like on the property we hunt we have noticed that buck activity in the summer comes and goes in cycles. It has a lot to do with the food on the property. When there are a lot of beans we get a ton of real good bucks throughout the summer but they leave when the beans start to turn because they look for acorns or other more digestable food. This year we have all corn which makes scouting hard. We have gotten two good bucks on camera all summer. But that will change once the corn starts to harden. I know from past experience that the bucks will come back and live in the corn and when the does start to come into heat we will be in the money. We have about 70 acres of standing corn right now.
Looks great. You have daytime pics of nice bucks in front of your stand. Can't ask for much more than that!
Looking pretty good so far! Our pics have been a little slow in coming as well this year for familiar faces. Fingers still crossed though!!
Thanks....There seems to be a pattern in this area where every other year there is just to much corn around, and this is one of those years. Just seems to me that when there is this much corn in the close proximity to my stands they avoid the trails and stick to the corn a lot more. There is still one buck in particular that I have not seen yet that I am really hoping made it through the rifle season last year..... Fingers crossed there is still plenty of time before opening day!
