I'm new on here, so I don't know if this is the place to post this or not. I'm looking to buy a climbing stand that will not not cost a whole lot, Because I'm only 14 and don't have a job. :/ My range would probably be anything up to $250. Thanks in advance!

Summit Viper would be a great choice and you can find one right at that $250 range if you look around.

Check out summit's climbers. I just got a summit 180 max sd and I have tested it out plenty and I'm real happy I bought it. They are very well built and comfortable treestands. Look around at different sites and you will easily find a summit model you like for under $250

I don't have a good one yet just an old steal one but, I know a guy who has had a summit for around 10 years now and he wont give it up. I asked him the other day when he was going to get a new one and he said when they stop making replacement cables and cushions. lol He has only worn out one set of cables so far though. I may end up using it on a hunt or two this year to try it out. If it is as god as everyone makes them out to be, I will have one before opener next season. If its worth anything from what I here, Summit is it hands down.

Just keep an eye on the LW climbers as well. They pack better and are lighter. But they are not as comfortable. The reason I did not bring them up here for the OP is that they are also much more expensive.

The Summit is a great stand and I love mine because I am scared of heights and there is little debate that the summits are the most rock solid climber out there.

I just bought a Summit Viper SD today. It's been years since I used a climber and this is light and easy to climb with. I am 58 and not in to bad of shape and was really amazed at how easy it is to get on the tree and climb.

I had a Summit Viper, sold it 5 years ago and got a Lone Wolf Handclimber. Both good stands but I like the Lone wolf for packing it in. Not as comfortable on stand but comfortable carrying it in. I love Lone Wolf stands

For your price range it's going to be hard to find anything that will be a Summit. If you save up about 2x that amount I would say Equalizer.

I just bought a summit viper about 3 weeks ago. Went out yesterday and tried it out in the woods. Carries well, climbs excellent, and the only thing I didn't like about it was I almost fell asleep about 5 times.

He is at $250.00...if he looks around he can find a Summit on sale for that much. As a matter of fact I just checked Gander Mountain sales just now and they have the Summit Viper classic on sale for $199.00.

i bought the same thing last year and i love it, its looked a lot more comfortable than the openshot and i didnt want a stand with a rail. and it seemed to be the perfect fit. My daily naptime would be in that beast after work every day

Summit Viper SS. On sale for $249 at a local sporting goods chain last fall. Great stand and if you do some research you can find great deals.

My post had a typo. It was supposed to say that at that price range it's going to be hard to find anything to (beat) a Summit.
