Hey all, This past weekend my daughter and I took a quick road trip to South Dakota. Since her summer break is half over and we haven’t done much (daddy has been busy working), we decided to do a little deer scouting, shed hunting, and hiking-generally speaking. We also had Mount Rushmore on our radar screen. Moreover, since Mt. Rushmore is very close to Deadwood, we decided to pay a little visit to world renown saddle maker J.J Croft (Jerry is an indictee in the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and has made several major motion picture saddles for actors like Tom Selleck and company. Remember the movie, “Quigley Down Under”?) Our visit was going well, JJ and his wife Duffy were just as beautiful as always. This cowboy and his lovely bride can entertain anyone/people better than any couple I know. All hell broke loose when JJ walked out and presented me with a special gift. It is a gift I would like to share… Do you think Jerry knows I have a love for bow hunting? This leather case is completely hand stitched and hand carved. It is a true piece of art by a fine craftsman. This is the back. The arrow case holds exactly a dozen arrows. He even nailed my leopard. How is that! The case is too beautiful to fly with, but you can bet your bippy I'll be showing up to local hunts with it around my bow. If anyone is interested in something personal like this, drop me a PM. Or,contact JJ Croft Saddles directly (605-578-3228). I'm sure Jerry will square you away. That's what "real cowboys" do! Will-- That is awesome, he must be a really good guy. Sounds like you had a good time with your daughter also. That is definitely a unique and personal gift. Very cool
That sounds like a great trip and an awesome gift to top it off. Hats off to you for taking the trip with your daughter and a BIG congrats on the "trophy" case
I think it's col that you will use it on hunts around the house...no matter how beautiful something is, most of the time it needs to be used. Imagine 150 years from now when great great grandbaby huck will have the case and it will be rugged with a story to tell. Cool and thanks for sharing.
South Dakota??? That's like a state away from me!! Hell you were probably 6 hours west of me!! One of these days Will, one of these days we'll shoot the ****!! Great looking bow case there, very well done.
Will, that is AWESOME fella , the work he has puit into that is amazing . Sure must have topped off a great trip with your Daughter .
