My mom and dad live about 3/4 from the Missouri River. Just across the road from their house is a small lake, about 5 acres in size. For whatever reason, waterfowl like this lake. They live on it year round but today we caught a massive migration of snow and Canada geese. There were literally thousands of them. I snapped this picture but despite my 10x zoom, they were really just a little too far for my camera. But you get the idea. It took nearly an hour for all these birds to land. It was really cool to watch.
On the way back from the IL Deer and Turkey Classic my Dad and I saw a couple of different flocks of snow geese, and altogether I wouldn't hesitate in saying there were at least 10,000 snow geese. No wonder they don't have any bag limits on them!
