just have 2 questions about blinds. i am new to bowhunting and i think im going to get a blind next year to hunt out of. one big enough for me and my buddy or girl friend...i was just curious to what you thought works better, a blind or a stand?? i know a million things affect it but choose one.....i have spots where i can hang a stand but very few, there is alot of tiny trees and brush and ALOT of evergreens on my property......my other question is do you guys use/trust mesh if you do hunt with blinds??? thanks!!
This is a simple rule for you to carry into the future. When I first started hunting I would spend more time hunting for the perfect tree to put a tree stand in then actual hunting. This happened because now that I look back the area dictated using a ground blind rather then a treestand. As for the shoot through mesh I would practice shooting through it and form your own opinion. Some say they have no issues, some say they do. Be careful with the blind though...Whitetails for the most part pick them out in a heart beat. Most people will brush them in and put them out ahead of time. If I were you I would make some really nice natural blinds in a few different areas and by a tree stand seeing that you are new to bowhunting then buy a blind later down the road. Take Care
I choose blind for that is what I think would match your conditions. With that said I do not like hunting out of a blind except for turkey season.
