Little guy that came by yesterday morning. Grunted him and another identical 5 pointer in. My bow with the shoot-thru I installed...she shoots like a dream now. My setup this morning. No deer but had a groundhog come within 6 yards of me. He heard me reaching for my camera and climbed a tree. They're not the best at climbing and they have a harder time coming down. The last 6 feet or so he said screw it and jumped. :D
Great looking ghillie suit! Good luck. If I had one of my varmint broadheads, which I usually carry one, I would have shot at that guy.
I knew they chucked wood, and in fact as much as they could chuck...but I didnt know they climbed trees. Great suit!
That buck looks a bit odd, does he have a blunt main beam on the left side or is it an angle thing. Looks like an "acorn tip", he'll be an easy one to follow over the years if so. I'd have never thought groundhogs climbed trees, learn something new every day. Pretty cool
Thanks guys! This is the second time I've seen a groundhog climb a tree. A couple years back, I had one screwing around close by my stand and there were some does at the bottom of the hill (groundhog couldn't see) that were playing. That g'hog climbed a tree to check out the noise. They seem to be a very cautious critter. Ha! I just hope it pays off for me like it did back in 2010...especially now that I have my ghillie suit.
