I use to bear hunt not just too far away from you. I was south of Roseau about 50 minutes. Hunted there In 1989 and 1990, shot a bear each year. Completely different country then I'm hunting In now though.

It looks like you've got some good ones coming in. Good luck when you're getting after them.

Looking good Steve! From my limited expirence judging bears, it dont look like any real slobs there, but definatly some solid bears. Are you picky on what you'll shoot up there? Or is a bear a bear?

    Nice pics Steve!

That first one looks like it could be a big boar and the second looks like it could be a color phase.

    Good luck bro!!!

Spoken like a pro!! The 1st one Is a very nice bear, we have a pile of pics of him at night. He never once hit our baits during the day. The 2nd pic Is a chocolate like you said, not a bad size bear either.

    Al-

I was hoping to get a crack at a 200+lb bear but didn't work out this year so far. Hell on the last day I would of took a 130 pounder I believe. I was filming myself hunting, would've been cool to get a kill on film by myself.

Probably heading back up In 3 weeks to give It another try, the hunting pressure Is nothing like I've ever saw before this year. Bear hunters/baiters every 2 to 3 tenths, bunch of BS It Is!! You want to see hunting pressure, come up to northern Mn where I bear hunt. It's absolutely nuts and something needs to be done!!! We had one bear sighting In 5 days of hunting between 5 of us, not good. Last evening was the only sighting so far (friend of the hunting party saw a nice boar). Everyone else stayed up and plans on hunting all the way till Monday night, I need to work tomorrow otherwise I'd be hunting Instead of typing this.

If I get back up there, who knows what size of bear will be safe. :p
