I love trying to think of new ways to get different looking shots that you don't see very often. I was looking at my tripod and my camera arm and i thought if i could combine them in some way, that would be really cool because i could get the action of panning and other shots that you can get with a tree arm and make it portable so i can get those shots anywhere in the field. Well i got exactly what i was hoping for.

I took the black piece that is inside the base of the camera arm base on the muddy outfitter and put it into the tripod after i took the middle piece out of the tripod

I then took the piece that tightens the center piece on the tripod to hold it in place.

Then just slide the arm in and its is super smooth and works awesome!

Now the only problem i have is when it is fully extended it wants to tip over even if i put the legs as wide as they will go. In our shed video we are in the process of making right now we are putting this to good use, and for right now i just have someone hold the leg down while i get the shot. The shots look really cool and are pretty unique!

Great idea. Maybe you can just get some type of stake to hold the legs down, or hang a sand bag from the center of the tripod. That might give you enough counterweight to keep it from tipping.

I was thinking the stake thing also. I was just going to go get some tent stakes and some small rope and anchor it that way. I thought of the sand bag also, I just didn't want to have to carry a sand bag around, everything else is already heavy enough.

Wow that is awesome. Way to be creative - that would be helpful in a turkey blind too. Maybe incorporate this with the stic n pic ??

I thought of this when I saw your mod

The only thing that could improve this is a automotive part used somewhere.

My thought exactly, this could be really helpfull in a ground blind. Instead of having to move the tripod around can just slide the arm over.

How much movment can you get without it wanting to tip over when you have the tripod set up lets say for hunting out of a ground blind?

You can get quite a bit of movement. If you are sitting in a blind trying to film you could even just put your feet on the legs to help anchor it down too

Yeah I wanna say I have seen something like this and pondered on it before but now seeing how you did it Im gonna have to give it a shot and hopefully it fits in my tripod. Have u dropped that little cylinder yet? I use to get annoyed when it would come out so I would always glue it back into my camera arm base.
