I was out at my property on Sunday. I was walking across the field I had plowed for food plots and warm season grass planting. I found an arrowhead, so I started really looking for them. It seems the remnants of IKE has washed off quite a few. Some are roughed versions to be completed later and others are pretty nice ones.

I must have had an Indian village on my property at one time to have found this many in one area. I am going to have to do some more exploring and see what I can find.

    Here are the pics.

That's really neat. I remember you posting a while back about a few you had found when you first had the property. I think that can be just as exciting sometimes as hunting. What an amazing piece of history.

Did you find all those in one day? If so, that is basically a miracle.

Those are so cool to find. People find them often around here, since we are in the heart of the Great Plains.

Now just strap one of those babies to twig and kill a deer with it:d

    Yup, one afternoons worth.

I had planned on getting home to MO early enough to hunt in the evening, but I couldn't stop looking for them. I know I missed some too. I'll be back after the next big rain or after I disc it up.

I was thinking the same thing. If you could practice enough to become efficient, what a neat thing that would be to take a deer with truly traditional equipment.

Very cool John! We have found a few around here at camp over the years. This was an area that the Ojibwa tribes inhabited for many many years.

John, bust out the plow again and you'll turn up more.

My grandma use to find them all of the time after fall plowing.

She even found a few stones that were used for mallets and etc.

    Sweet finds nonetheless.

Whitetail Paradise turns into Arrowhead Paradise.

wow very cool, Id love to find some, Hell id love to find one! The only things I have found were old tobacco pouches, old musket balls, found part of a bayonet, cant remember where I put any of this stuff, found some old medicine bottles, baseball glove from around 1938, my brother has that, an old fender from a 1940's Ford, adn a bunch of other stuff that I have misplaced over the years, ohh yea and some old .44 caliber shells that we dug up from the garden a few years back. at least we think they are .44 they look pretty close to the same size as the ones today....but old.

JM, I got to thinking about this. If you can find 16 of those in one day, you can basically bet on the fact that there is a TON of them out there. Not to mention other types of artifacts as well. I know guys that have searched for years and found maybe a dozen, I certainly haven't found that many. That would be so cool to look around out there, just cause I really like the old Indian stuff.

We go searching for them here. If you have a plowed field, after a good hard rain, near a creek or pond, you could be knee deep in artifacts:d

We find lots of buffalo skulls in the creeks here, after some rain. We usually find just the tope of the skull with the horns attached. Kinda like the part of a deer skull you cut off to make one of those antler mounts. If you can find one with the entire skull, that is a treasure:tu: They're HUGE.
