Smallie fishing seems to be a common occurance here in the water cooler lately.

Yesterday I went out with the Ziegler family and Tim, Tyler and Ken for our annual smallmouth trip. Its been a cold spring up here this year and the fish are still on their beds. We started out using topwater, but had to switch to jigs as they were still protecting the beds.

Tim, Tyler and Ken ended up boating 99 smallies and had about as many get off. The Ziegler family and I boated around 80-100 ourselves and also lost as many or more.

Here's a few pics from the day. Oh, you don't have to guess any weights on these. :d

Nicely done, Dan  I went saugeye fishin' for the first time, last weekend. Caught 4 in about 4 hours (2 keepers), plus a few smallies, some crappie and a lonely pearch.
