well I was taught that you do not want to hold your bow tightly because this will cause you to torque (twist) your bow when you shoot. a sling allows the bow to rest on your wrist so that you don't have to grip the bow with your hand.

    Help

As far as the fletching goes I use Nap Quickfletch. All you need is boiling water. No jig or glue required. Just place in water for a few seconds and they shrink around the shaft. They come with Blazer Vanes or regular 3 and 4 inch vanes. They hold up great as well. You cannot beat how quick and easy it is to fletch a dozen arrows using them.

A easy guide to tying your d loop can be found on youtube. There are several vids to choose from.

Question #1...A lot of people don't use slings. But those who do use them so that they don't have to grip the bow when aiming. This prevents bow torque. When you shoot the sling catches the bow on your wrist so it doesn't fall on the ground. So it can increase your accuracy but in an indirect way.

Question #2...Different fletchings have different materials, shapes and weights. I personally don't use fusion or blasers. I have nothing against either. But I have had great results with QuickSpin ST's.

Question #3...Check out Arizona Archery 's website. They have a great jig and fletching system for cheap.

Question #4...I would have someone who knows show you how to do this. Tying a d-loop is very easy but if you do it wrong it's a sure fire way to dry fire a bow.
