Yep, mine's been festering in my chest for a few days now, and I'm sure it didn't help that I went out Wednesday and just got SOAKED... Sucks because my 18-month has got a touch of it, too... He's pretty achy right now, and wants to be held constantly. I work in medical sales, and sell most of the hospitals in the three-hour radius surrounding my house all their flu kits, so I've got a better-than-average idea of what to expect out of the flu season. We're already starting to see positives in the area already. One of the ways the CDC (Center for Disease Control) judges how severe it expects the flu season to be is by monitoring what happens in Australia's season since they're ahead of us; they just got hammered this fall, much as we did this spring -- so it's likely to be another nasty fall for us as well. Bad for people... good for the pocketbook. The manufacturers contribute $20 per flu kit to my Rewards card, which is good at both Cabelas & Bass Pro. I've been pushing flu kits HARD the last month or so.
They're simple latex kits that contain a collection device (usually a nasal swab) that tells you if you have the flu, and if it's the A or B strain.
I shouldnt say this out of fear of jinxing myself. but i havent been sick in a long time now i take back what i just said out of superstition
