I found this buck on my land last year. Through scouting, I think I have found one of his preferred bedding sites. I set up my cameras (daytime only) in spots that I though he might travel. I finally got a pic of him that I can confirm as him. He has grown nicely. I have many pics of him with last seasons head gear and would love to get him. Don't get me wrong, if a bigger one comes along.........that'l will work too!

    Here he is

    BTW, he is my avatar.

Is it possible he is the same guy as the one in your avatar? Any type of pattern on him at all? He looks like a dandy mature bruiser.

Good luck with him Greg. Seems like you are getting some of the pieces to his puzzle.

He showed up again. Unfortunately, the pic is very blurry. I've been having this problem lately.

Greg - that's a pretty common problem with those older Cuddes. What model are you using, an Excite? Even with the blurry pic he looks like a heck of a nice buck! I'm sure its only a matter of time before you get a better photo. Just need him to stand still for a second.

Justin, it's a Cuddy No - flash. I have them set for daytime only, but I don't think that's the problem. I sure hope he stands still, especially when he gets in front of my stand!!

Greg, how did you get on to him?

What forms of scouting did you use? Had you glassed him much this summer or were you using last year's knowledge of where you knew he was? Did you know it was his bed before you put the Cudde in there? Just curious as to how you "zero" in on bucks year after year.

    englum,
Last year, when I was walking the land prior to purchasing it, I came across a buck bedding spot that was just off of a ridge point. After purchasing the land I kind of sacrificed my hunting and scouted the land throughly throughout the hunting season. I also put out 4 cameras with bait. I spotted the buck 3 times while hunting but had no shots. He was showing up regularly on the cameras. He always showed up on that camera first then hit the others. Therefore I guessed that it was his bedding spot and may have gotten lucky!
