7 years 6 different cameras 7,000 pictures And i finally got my first fox: Ive seen them a number of times, but could never get a picture of one. I also got my first possum picture this year as well. Both with my cuddeback.
Boy you just don't see many fox around here ever since the coyotes moved in 15 years ago. They brought mange with them and wiped most of the fox out. Now the coyotes are thick and pretty much keep the fox numbers down. I've already got 3 coyotes on my one trail cam and I just started last summer. Other then deer... raccoons cotton tails pheasants turkeys black birds Tim
Simon, how thick are those woods you've got your camera in? And how far away are you from a field? Just trying to learn a little more about location for trapping... :D Boy, he's primed up really well... he'd make a great mount!
I have seen exactly 5 while hunting here in PA. Down at twildasin's in York, PA, they are a virtual lock to get on your deer if you let it lay for any amount of time. Cool pic Caleb.
Im about 300 yards from fields, in pretty open woods. But 5 yards to the left of my camera is the thickest bedding area around. Thats where he was heading. Come to think of it, ive never got a picture of a pheasant, though birds are hard when your targeting deer.
We have several foxes that live on our property. There is an old abandoned farm house that has all the windows busted out and the doors open and over the summer there was a male, female, and probably 3 or 4 young ones residing in the house. We have also come across a skunk problem on our area too. It seems like every night my dad or I hunt a particular property we always see at least one skunk on our walk out. It makes for a very interesting and slow walk when we get to the area we always see them at, because I am scared to death that I am going to get sprayed one of these days.
Cool picture... By the title of your thread I thought you were going to tell us you got your first nut or something...:p
Probably not, Im not 100% sure about Ohio hunting regs regarding them, I think you have to have a fur takers permit. I would love to have one though.
