    OOPS meant to say GPS

Okay someone posted a thread about a wind detector this week. I suggested using chalk-line chalk. Even better, I went to Lowes and bought some blaze orange Marking Chalk for .98 cents. It will work as a wind detector and I can see it for at least 20 feet or so. It can also double for marking trails. I tried it out, it sticks to everything I put it on... even my chrome bumper. Now this will be in my equipment bag from now on. I hate tracking at night but with this stuff, I can mark my trail at eye level and follow it right back out... and it will wash away with the next rain instead of laying around for the rest of the season like TP. Yes it is odorless.

That's a great idea, wish I'd've read this before leaving the house today.

Guys... let me know how it works. This is only the birth of an idea. I am going out now to give it a try in the woods as I scout some more and hang a couple stands.

I'd advise never to use red, it will stain everything! And even with the Orange try not to get it on you bow.

Are you just putting it in some kind of bottle or does it come with one?

It comes in a squeeze bottle already... do be careful to keep the lid closed.

I just tried it... at eye level on a tree I can see a dime size spot (orange) easily at 50 yards. I don't know if anyone else worries about not being able to find their way out after dark but this really seems to be a good plan. Or... if you shoot a deer and decide to back out for a few hours... mark the trail and come back later with no problem finding it again. So far... I am loving it.

I see it is also available in a spray can... may be even better. I don't know if that has an odor.
