95 years old with a butcher knife= dangerous?

    My question is why were they trying to force him to go to a medical facility. He has a right to refuse health care.

    He got what he deserved by pulling a knife on a police officer but it shouldn't have come to that. On the other hand, he was just trying to protect his rights.


    We don't have all the facts but it sounds like a major cluster. :(

    I really don't think he could be a threat and the officers should have that a taser could do way more damage to someone that age.

    When do the protests begin? Those cops should have never gotten out of their car. The old guy was just standing his ground.

    At the end of the video they said he was armed with a 2 foot long metal shoe horn.:what:

    I'm confused.

    Big difference between a knife and a shoe horn.

    Not enough info to really make an intelligent conclusion but I think the cops were out of line. Trick the guy into putting down the knife or something other then the beanbag taser routine. It sounds like the cops got lazy.

    I had an 82 year old shoot off a long gun the other day and start acting crazy.....arrived on scene and he was sitting in a chair in a dimly light garage with the gun by his feet. I had the bead of my shotgun in the middle of his chest for 10 minutes before we took him into custody. I considered him dangerous.

    I agree with you, I would be less concerned with the age and more concerned with the weapon. I would like to know how and why it got to this point. We can't force medical care on someone (unless they have had their rights removed for mental reasons) plus we have conflicting reports of a shoe horn or knife.

    I wouldn't be trying to take a knife from him:o
