On my Honeymoon in Disney....attempting to board the shuttle bus to go to 1 of the parks and the bus driver told us go back to your rooms all the parks are closed, wouldn't explain expect to say something horrible, my Wife and I assumed to the parks not to our entire Nation... Never Forgotten !!!
I was in 7th grade. I was in math class (1st period) when we started hearing that something had happened. it wasnt until i went to my next class (2nd period history) that we found out what had happened. We wheeled one of the TV carts in and turned the news on and watched it there. That night we had a prayer vigil at church.
Jackson Hole WY, I had worked the night shift and fell asleep on the couch with the TV on. I awoke to see the towers on the TV billowing smoke. Took me quite awhile to realize what was going on and that it was all real. Spent the rest of my day with my closest friends watching the coverage.
I was riding the bus into downtown Minneapolis; was listening to radio live as the 2nd plane hit! People were saying "they have 5 more planes and are heading to Chicago and LA" ... Sad day for sure! I wonder what it would have been like if we had social media back then...
I was waking up from a weekend long of drunken stupor. Had flown in the night before from Nashville into Portland at 1150pm. 6 hours later that piece of **** Mohammad atta would be walking thru the same airport on his way to Boston.
I was in 7th grade. I remember chasing my dad down the street because I had turned the news on. Sent from my iPhone 4s using Tapatalk
Sitting in the computer lab in 6th grade. One of those things when you got really excited when they rolled the TV stand in; except not this time.
Dove hunting in a picked field. we were walking out when a C-130 hung very low, looked like he was going to land, we kind of panicked, he banked and we could actually see the pilot. I still have no idea why he did this. We parted ways and I noticed there were cops all over especially near schools, I finally heard it over the radio and could not believe it. The second hit was after I got home! sad day indeed!
I was hunting teal on the ohio river. Never will forget, I was glued to the radio on the way home, I couldn't believe what I was hearing had happened.
I was at work at Maxwell AFB. We were placed on lock-down in a building with no AC. but I managed to get tv reception and rigged up an ac unit. The next few days would take almost 2 hours to get on the base.
I still remember those poor souls jumping from the tower as it burned. That is about as angry as I had ever felt in my life. To see Americans in so much pain and agony made me want to awful things to those bastards.
I was in my freshmen year of high school and ironically the class I was in was Current World Issues. We obviously didn't do much that day. In every class we just listen to the radio and talked about why it was happening. All I wanted to do was be with my family.
I was at my cubicle just sitting down to work 8AM PST. My wife and I were married 3 days earlier and life was good. I don't even know how I found out but I know all anyone did that day was watch the news in shock. We had plane tickets to Mexico for our honeymoon in about 10 days and we had no idea if we would be able to go, or if we'd want to. 2 days we'll never forget: 12/7/41 & 9/11/01. I have my flag up today in the bed of my truck. God Bless America!
